About us
Hotel Ponta Delgada was the first hotel of the Ciprotur Hotel Group to be built, in 1993, and one of the first to operate in the Azores.
At the beginning of its activity, the Hotel Ponta Delgada was composed of 50 rooms and an outdoor swimming pool.
The business was smaller, and life worked at a different pace. The owners of the Hotel themselves would give the tours and welcome the guests. Much of this genuine hospitality remains, and some of the employees of that time are part of the current team and continue to transmit the art of hospitality.
Hotel Ponta Delgada was expanded in 1998, to 98 rooms, and renovated in 2009 and 2017, and now has an indoor heated pool, spa facilities, bar, and restaurant O Baco.
In 2001, Ciprotur Hotel Group opened Hotel do Mar, with a unique decoration by architect Vítor Forte, where you can feel the inspiration in art nouveau, Portuguese sidewalks, and the Azorean lighthouses and sea.
Hotel do Mar is a small 36-room hotel located by the sea in the town of Povoação, on São Miguel Island. It is very popular with nature-loving travelers.
Hotel do Mar has an outdoor pool and jacuzzi, bar with esplanade, and rooms with sea view.
In 2005, the group began operating Hotel Colombo on Santa Maria Island, a large hotel in Vila do Porto. Hotel Colombo has 87 accommodation units, among rooms and apartments, and beautiful balconies. Almagreira Bar has an esplanade overlooking the outdoor pool and garden.
In 2006, the grou
p made its most recent construction, Antillia Hotel, a modern building, framed in the center of Ponta Delgada. The Antillia was expanded in 2017, and currently has 92 accommodation units, including rooms and apartments, outdoor pool, spa, heated indoor pool and bar with terrace.
